Shinrin Yoku Sauna Ritual with Nisha Toppin for International Womens Day, in collaboration with Nature & Therapy UK

  • Spring & Sauna Cuttery House, East Allington Totnes, England, TQ9 7QN United Kingdom (map)

Inspired by Shinrin Yoku, the Japanese art of forest bathing, this women’s sauna ritual is a journey through heat, aroma, and presence. Shaped by the healing power and wisdom of trees.

Each tree carries its own energetic frequency. In this ritual, we work intentionally with the physical, emotional, and metaphysical properties of tree essential oils and whisks.

On a physical level, the heat and plant essences support circulation, respiration, and deep release.

On an emotional level, the oils speak directly to the nervous system, soothing, strengthening, or gently stirring what is ready to move.

On a metaphysical level, the unique spirit of each tree offers guidance and realignment, returning us to a sense of original harmony with ourselves and the natural world.

As these layers unfold, the sauna becomes a liminal woodland space, where time slows and the body is gently guided back into its natural rhythms.

As the ritual draws to a close and the heat softens, what has been released is carried away with breath and sweat; what is needed remains. The work continues beyond the sauna, integrating in its own time, as you return grounded, restored, and reconnected to yourself and the living world around you.

What’s included:

  • Tree essential oils

  • Hot flannels

  • Aromatic waters

  • Birch & oak whisks
